Habitat For Humanity Solar pictures

Hey solarDwellers:

Hopefully, after two days of work plus just one more coming up, we'll have another few solar PV systems completed on the Habitat for Humanity East Bay project in Livermore, CA!! Yess!!!

Check out my pictures from the event at http://solardweller.shutterfly.com and feel free to send me any solar questions or even how much a solar PV system might cost these days at : solarisbetter@comcast.net. Best email is solarisbetter@yahoo.com  I enjoy getting your solar questions and letting you know how easy(or challenging) a solar solution can be.

Go solar and enjoy the pictures,

Hi Jason,
as I know there is shortage for Polysilicon - rawmaterial for solar cells producing. Don't you have any shortage of PV-Panells?

Beautiful picture and you are showing what's possible in a solar world.

Are there any other upcoming projects in the Bay Area. I'd love to somehow incorporate our Solar LED accents to the Habitat for Humanity cause.

Looking forward to updates

This is my own homemade solar furnace. It's made from scraps from a renovation project, 25$ worth of galvanize duct, and 65$ worth of electronics

and :)

it works.

Very interesting.

If the economics don't work, alternative energy efforts won't either.
Check Http://LivePaths.com, a blog about innovative entrepreneurs that make money selling recycled items, provide green services or help us reduce our dependency on non renewable resources. These include some very cool Green online ventures, great new technologies, startups and investments opportunities.

If anyone can explain the recently passed solar power tax credit legislation, I would really appreciate it. I'm trying to understand what the minimum investment is to use the credit and what type of solar equipment/installation is required?

Thanks,

I was wondering if you ever used Find-Solar.org to see how close their solar estimator is to your actual solar power production?

There’s a great video on San Francisco I Am where hundreds of teens in the Bay Area ditched their video games at home and headed for the biggest green festival in the nation. The Festival was held in San Francisco and the kids learned AND taught one another about climate change and green jobs. Even Chuck D from Public Enemy was there.

You can check out the video here:

Lock up your Solar Panels

It seems that everywhere you turn you are seeing more and more Solar products begining to emerge. One of the latest trends that is hitting the Global Market is Solar For Golf Carts. Many Golf Courses are taking the Eco-Friendly approach to their Golf Courses by using recycled water, biodegradable materials, Chemical Free pesticides and fertilizers to name a few. But the Newest and most fascinating is putting Solar Tops on the Golf Carts!

This past May, Sebonack Golf Club in Southhampton, NY converted 39 of their 40 Golf carts into Solar. Earlier this year, the Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course in Hong Kong became the first club in the world to outfit it's entire fleet of golf carts with Solar Tops. Both claim and annual savings of over $50,000.00 US by going Solar. Hawaii Prince Golf Club has also converted 10 of their golf carts.

The impact this is having is not only the reduction in their Carbon footprint, but the reduction in downtime for their golfers and the savings on electric costs because they do not have to plug in as often. And one of the greater advantages to going Solar is the extended battery life. The costs savings become tremendous as well as continuous.

SolarForGolfCarts.com has opened the doors for the international market as well with their distributorship in Turkey and Panama.

This is definitely a trend worth watching. And encouraging for those of us who look to business' that become more Eco-Friendly.

When we started building our first solar panel a major sticking point was where to purchase solar cells. I had been searching and had found several different websites that had solar cells for sale the only problem was they were way to expensive! I had started wanting to build a solar panel because I thought I would be saving a lot of money. The cells I had found would have cost more than buying an actual panel.

Great idea about house with solar installation! Using solar energy system is the best choice of green energy! In the long term It will save our environment and resource.

Envirogreen Technologies said...

We must make sure we have the necessary safeguards in place so we don't harm the environment, while trying to save it. Solar seems the safest as wind needs to come up with a design or method of keeping bats and birds away from the turbines. I know this will all get worked out in the end, we just need to make sure it doesn't get left out.

Solar panels are really the most important investments you will ever have the opportunity to make. By installing a home solar panel, you will find that you make significant savings on your power bills through the creation of renewable energy.

The recovery/ payback period for this investment can be very short depending on how much electricity your household uses.
