Solar billionaire: show me the solar money

Hey solarDwellers:

Well, yes, I guess solar power has graduated to the big leagues, to the upper echelons, to the halls of the powerful. I don't usually keep track of Forbes' list of new billionaires, probably because seeing greater and greater concentration of wealth each year can get depressing, but Zhengrong Shi, citizen of Australia, resident of China, has become a new member on the Forbes list, #350 to be exact. His company is Suntech power, making solar panels in China.

Whoa. Dude looks pretty serious about solar in this photo.
Let's hope he keeps putting his money in green technologies, so at least we have some of that concentrated wealth going toward clean energy solutions!

Many solar energy companies in China have got listed, Suntech Power is just the first. Solar energy industry is quite hot in China, each year many new companies enter this industry, while the existing players continue to expand their production capacity also.

But the solar electricity is still too expensive compared with the conventional electricity. And most of the solar panels are exported abroad.

At present the only successful solar power application in China is the solar water heater, solar water heater has been widely installed in China.

Welcome to my blog to see more information about the solar energy industry in China.
